Applied for Film InvitationI just put in an application to post film on DA. The FAQ says it should take roughly a month to process the request.
If approved, my hope was to post some short facial videos, reciting a monologue or poem. Perhaps for animators, running through a set of vocal shapes (ma mi mu me mo, pa pi pu pe po) with the mouth.
Currently I'm still figuring out a way to record sound that I'm happy with, so they would be silent footage.
I'd also like to try to film something simultaneously from the front and side with two or more cameras. My backups might have to be iphones, though.
If everything is approved, my film submissions would be free to view but not downloadable. They goal being use as animation and drawing reference, not as raw stock footage to use in music videos or commercials.
To anyone suffering through term finals this semester: Good luck, you can do it!
The Declaration of Rights of the BulliedYou have the right to feel pain and hurt when someone says or does something that hurts you, even unintentionally.
You have the right to brush off someone else's words and actions and not allow them to affect your life.
You have the right to lose respect for someone who hurts you.
You have the right to be empathetic, and choose to understand that their words don't necessarily mean who they are.
You have the right to believe that someone is bullying you out of sheer sadistic cruelty.
You have the right to believe that sometimes the meanest people are those who are the most hurt inside.
You have the right to stand up for yourself in the heat of the moment. To call out behaviour that hurts you or others. To point fingers and say "This is wrong. This needs to change."
You have the right to stand up for yourself days, weeks, months or years after the fact. Sometimes you graduate from school and you and that bully are both in your 30s. Maybe they've matured. Maybe they haven't. You ha

Ken Hoinsky's Rape Manual Part 2: Did We Win?After Dosomething.org deliviered a petition of over 60,000 signatures, and users of facebook and twitter hammering Kickstarter's social media outlets, Kickstarter issued a statement.
On Wednesday morning Kickstarter was sent a blog post quoting disturbing material found on Reddit. The offensive material was part of a draft for a "seduction guide" that someone was using Kickstarter to publish. The posts offended a lot of people — us included — and many asked us to cancel the creator's project. We didn't.
We were wrong.
Why didn't we cancel the project when this material was brought to our attention? Two things influenced our decision:
The decision had to be made immediately. We had only two hours from when we found out

STRONG TRIGGER WARNING FOR SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND ASSAULT
What does it mean to be a woman with a public online presence? A lot of the time it means finding like-minded people to make friends with, collaborate on projects with, and share your view of the world. A lot of the time it means sharing your presence and letting people know, "Yes! There are girls on the Internet!"
All of the time, it means a little bit of fear.
That fear is always riding just under the surface. On the outside, I can be casual, humorous, and love my life deeply and sincerely. But that doesn't make the fear go away. The fear is always there. It comes in the form of comments on my body when I ask people not to. It comes in the form of private messages asking for my facebook info or to "get to know me better". It comes in the form of being afraid to tell peop
Body Pillows of Cosplayers Sold Without ConsentOn this episode of They will steal your photos and sexualize you whether you like it or not, we have a photographer selling body pillows with prints of cosplayers on them (front and back, just in case you didn't get the idea of a body pillow) at AnimeNEXT.
Marie Grey, a cosplayer of a Dark Phoenix pillow has her side of the story here
Currently, the geekosphere is waiting for the photographer to respond to accusations of using images inappropriately.
Some models may have signed a licensing agreement allowing him to use their photos and likeness, but were not aware of and did not agree to body pillow printing. That kind of business should be told up-front immediately in a contract. As well, n
Request Stock HereThis is not a suggestion list. Don't post suggestions for poses here.
As many of you know, due to theft and commercial misuse of my images, I've disabled the downloads to my stock, and placed the images behind a paywall.
This is to discourage those who would drive-by, looking for something free and fast and not bothering to read my rules, or just not caring that I have them.
I appreciate that not everyone can afford to pay for stock and not everyone uses DA's points system.
Please post a comment here with the stock packs you are requesting.
Keep it reasonable, like five. If you just say "all of them lol" I will ignore your post. (It's ok to make multiple posts as needed over time, I just don't think people need my entire library all at once)
I will send you a note with said links for free when I get around to it. It may be a while.
If you want the stock right away, you can still buy it.
I will hide the comment once the note is sent to keep track of who has been helped.
University of Wisconsin Green Bay Stole My PhotoUPDATE APRIL 18: Phil got back to me by email and said that the school's attorney is looking into the matter
The form letter has been removed. We have their attention.
UPDATE APRIL 18: This morning I was able to contact Phil Clampitt by phone.
He is investigating the matters and will have a reply to me by the weekend.
UPDATE APRIL 17: The Website has removed my photo but has left my name / credit up.
This morning I phoned Victoria Goff, but was only able to leave a message.
Tomorrow I will try to phone Phil Clampitt during his office hours.
No one has responded to my emails yet.
Also, edited to change "slander" to "libel". Sorry about that.
EDIT: The article appears to be an Onion-style comedy fake report. It has nothing to do with me, but doesn't state so. Honestly, this is libelious because these are lies published next to my photo, implying that this is me. IT IS NOT
DA's Commission System and Minimum WageDA has recently announced a new portal for users to search through those offering commissions to find artists they want to support.
The commissions system will be handled using DA's internal currency system of points, of which DA takes a royalty from.
Commissions are allowed to start at 10 points each for any type of art produced, from rough sketches and small icons to full digital works. Commissions is a great way for artists to offer their services, but are we creating a low-wage market where over-abundance of supply and lack of unification undercuts everyone?
That is to say, how can we guarantee that artists get paid fairly for their work?
10 points is roughly 13 cents. 1000 points may seem like a large commission, but it's really only $10.
Right now DA takes a 20

How To Photograph Your Paintings
How To Photograph Your Paintings
In this article I want to discuss a common problem that some traditional artists have. That's photographing your paintings. Whether it be for selling prints or just getting your art noticed online the importance of having paintings look great is key. If your fortunate enough to have a scanner for smaller pieces then that's great! But if your working on large canvases or paper then you can run into issues. The most common problem artists have are Glare, Blur and Color. All of which will be discussed in this article.
Anyone who has worked with acrylics and oils knows what a problem this can be when your trying to take a picture of a painting. This is not as much a issues for a artist working with watercolors
Giveaways NEED to STOP!Giveaways on deviantART need to stop! They're having a number of detrimental effects on the community at large. Within this article, I aim to discuss this problem, as well as provide alternatives for giveaways. I'll begin by outlining what a giveaway is, both in the real world and on deviantART; explain why giveaways are simply not for deviantART; illustrate my points with real-world examples; and then go into detail on what exactly the aforementioned detrimental effects are. Additionally, I will counteract a number of excuses people use for holding and entering giveaways; as well as offer alternatives to giveaways for both parties.
I know the article is quite long, but this is an issue which myself and a growing number of other community members feel to be important. But I promise, it doesn't actually take too long to read once you get going!
If you agree with my points in this article, or even simply find the debate interesting, I would appreciate

Back to School SaleHey, so I know many (broke! Broke broke broke!) art students are going back to school or starting art classes at college for the first time (Don't worry. Get enough sleep and you'll do fine.)
I know that textbooks and supplies can absolutely bleed you dry, so I'm reducing my prices to their point minimums for the time being. (think it's 10 cents?)
Good luck, you'll do great in your classes.
Manage your time.
Get good sleep.
Form meaningful friendships. You have to share lab time.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
But don't procrastinate.
PRoduce bad, ugly work without procrastinating.
You will get better, faster.
(P.S. The reason why I am so far behind on my request list is that stash seems to ALWAYS jam for hours and reject my stock uploads. I don't understand why. Maybe the latest round of stash fixes fixed this)
Keep in Touch!
