Siren - StoriesWhen Tiffy Cox told Miz Bennett her hair was snakes, Miz Bennett just stared at her.

"They're called dreadlocks, hun," the teacher said, casting Miz Bennett a haha-isn't-this-girl-dumb look over Tiffy's head. Tiffy got that look a lot, even though she was in the advanced class.

Miz Bennett kept staring at Tiffy. One of the snakes on her head slid down and put its head next to her ear, whispering. Miz Bennett blinked.

"Yeah," she said, and reached out an arm to press her nephew to her side. "Tiffy, what are you doing after school tomorrow?"

"Um." Tiffy shrugged. "There's the babysitter."

Naartok scooped up a handful of muddy sand.  Kesuk held out the white bowl full of water.  Naartok squeezed, muscles rippling under the copper skin of her arm, and a stream of murky liquid splashed into the bowl.  Rainbow colors flashed across the surface, glinting in the thin Alaskan sunlight.
"Test pit #10: heavy sheening, visible oil stains but no cohesive droplets," said Hamako, as she recorded their findings in the notebook.  "That's the last one for this field trip.  We're doing well on this; we'll get the college credit for sure."

The entry "Kravma Girl" is by far featuring the most practical and believable heroine with a detailed back-story about her training, built and diet. Hope I can vote for this piece soon.

So, with... I'm guessing two hundred entries so far (and I'm finishing up mine now), do you think it might be best to do voting in 'rounds'? Split them into groups of ten or twenty and have a tree vote, competition style?

There's a lot of great art in here, but with such a long list I wonder if the entries listed first won't have an advantage.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Voting would be staggered to 20 entries per poll, then the finals would begin. (I'm so amazed at the turnout!)

I like so much Mind Over Matter
But also Like Hypno and Urumi. they are good concepts for a good story. Urumi seems a good character for a show like Avatar Korra ^^

I can not decide maybe will have to wait to finish the contest!!
