The second part is I swabbed liquid permanent black ink onto the gun. The kind of black ink you would dip a fountain pen into for drawing.
The next process is antiquing, so you just take a paper towel or cloth and slowly rub off some of the black ink, revealing the paint underneath, being careful not to take off all the ink. (also be careful about fingerprints. It's good to do this technique in sections) The ink tends to settle in cracks and corners giving it an old-fashioned look.
It's in the office of my teacher, as it was a gift to her.
