This is a stock image meant to express mania, a state of extreme energy and chemical imbalance in the body causing it to overreact, either through joy or irritability. The depression and manic emotions remind me of bipolar disorder (especially since they're right next to each other)

You're right about that. These images were commissioned by an artist looking to make a piece about bipolar disorder. She graciously let me release a few of the unused images.
